According to the Federal Government, the work of restoring electricity supplies is still underway following the nationwide grid collapse on Friday at 6.30 p.m.

Mr Abubakar Aliyu, the Minister of Power, offered the guarantee on Saturday in a statement issued by Mr Isa Sanusi, his Special Adviser (Media).

Sanusi stated that some areas of the national grid had already been reactivated, and that supply to consumers had been restored.

“We wish to notify the general public of the incidence of a system collapse which occurred at 18:30hrs on April 8, resulting in power outages in many parts of the country.
