Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has arrived at the palace of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the late Alaafin of Oyo.
He arrived at the palace around 2:25 p.m.
The governor was greeted by the Bashorun of Oyo, High Chief Yusuf Ayoola, eldest son of the late king, Prince Babatunde Adeyemo, who also serves as Chairman of the Council of Chiefs.
Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, Director General, Public Procurement, Ms Tara Adefowokan, Chairman, State Advisory Council, and Senator Hosea Agboola joined the governor.
Bayo Lawal (Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters), Seun Ashamu (Energy and Mineral Resources), Prof Musbau Babatunde (Budget and Economic Planning), Prof Dahud Sangodoyin (Works and Transport), and Chief Bisi Ilaka, a former Chief of Staff to the Governor, are among the commissioners in the group.
Special Christian, Muslim, and customary prayers were offered for the deceased’s soul’s repose.
Hundreds of people and indigenes of the state have gathered outside the palace’s Oba Lamidi A. Adeyemi Hall.
