Barcelona has regained its soul and will win La Liga this season, according to club president Joan Laporta.
Laporta said this while praising Xavi Hernandez, Barca’s new head coach.
Hernandez’s replacement of Ronald Koeman in the Nou Camp hot seat, according to the Spanish politician, has returned the club to its former style of play.
According to InsightnaijaTV, Laporta made the comment after the Catalans moved into fourth place with 54 points and two games remaining.
On Sunday night, Barca will face Sevilla, and a win for the Catalans will propel them into third place.
“I am convinced we can win LaLiga, we are going to win it.
“We arrive at the run-in strongly, with the team functioning at top performance. With a coach who has clear ideas and lets us play our genuine style of football.
“We have recovered our essence and we have to go for LaLiga with optimism and will. It won’t be easy, it’s evident that it’s a big challenge, but I see it as possible,” Laporta said on TVE.
Laporta believes that hiring Xavi to replace Koman as coach was the best decision he has made since becoming president of Barcelona.
