During the All Progressives Congress National Convention, delegates from Edo State surprised the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, by chasing him away from the state’s podium.
The Minister, who is from the state, was said to have approached the Edo delegates’ platform at the ongoing APC National Convention at Eagle Square but was escorted away.
The Minister, taken aback by what had occurred, hastily exited the room and walked to the VIP section.
Meanwhile, security personnel had to be on their toes in order to keep the mob trying to get inside the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention under control.
This comes as several delegates and touts were seen attempting to push their way into the APC convention’s Eagle Square Abuja venue, with security personnel straining to keep the situation under control.
As a result of the development, police had to use tear gas and tasers to bring the situation under control, which was quickly devolving into a stampede.
In fact, the mob at the entrance through the Office of the Head of Service overcame the police officers on duty, forced open the gate, and a large number of people streamed into the event.
After recovering from the event, the police regained control of the gate, allowing routine accreditation to resume.
