Residents of Shanono in Kaduna State’s Shanono Local Government Area uncovered another improvised explosive device (IED).
On Friday, the explosive was discovered, 24 hours after an IED hidden in a bucket was uncovered.
The explosive that was discovered on Thursday was neutralized by the state anti-bomb team.
Children in the neighborhood discovered the bomb in a jerrycan covered in black nylon, according to Tijjani Umar, a resident of Shanono who spoke with newsmen
It was close to a stream in the neighborhood, he claimed.
“It was kept in the same spot where the Thursday IED was discovered. We don’t know what is happening in this community. It was my elder’s brother’s wife that rushed to inform me that the children found another bomb inside Jerrycan,” he said.
ASP Mohammed Jalige, a spokesman for the State Police Command, confirmed the news.
According to him, the anti-bomb team has been dispatched to the area.
Jalige said, “The area has been cordoned off to protect the people from getting hurt while our men are there to defuse the device.”
Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
