The wedding fatiha was held at the palace of the Shehu of Borno, His Eminence, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai Umar El Kanemi, on Saturday in the presence of a sizable crowd. Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, a former governor of Bauchi State and the PDP national chairman, served as the father of the groom, architect Ibrahim Bunu, while Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State served as the father of
Shiekh Shettima Mamman Sale, the Chief Imam Idaini of Borno, presided over the wedding fatiha.
Sadiq Ibrahim Bunu is the bride, while Fatima Kashim Shettima is the groom.
The Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan, the National Security Adviser, General Babagana Monguno (Rted), and the 2023 APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, were also present in addition to Prof. Gamabari, who spoke on behalf of President Buhari.
Business moguls Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Conglomerate, Alhaji Mohammed Idimi, President of the Idimi Group of Companies and Chairman of Oriental Energy Resources Ltd., and Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, Chairman of Max Air Limited, are among the other notable guests at the wedding.
Additionally present were the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baba Usman Alkali, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the former APC National Chairman and former governor of the state of Edo, the Chairman of the 36 State Governors (represented by Governor Kayode Fayemi of the State of Ekiti), and the APC Chairman of the State Governors Forum.
