Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, also known as Ayra Starr, a Nigerian musician, has reacted to the death of Sylvester Junior, a 12-year-old who was allegedly beaten to death after refusing to join a cult due to peer pressure.
Sylvester Junior, a 12-year-old child, was allegedly beaten to death for refusing to join a cult at a Lagos school.
According to Perrie, a 12-year-old boy’s uncle, his cousin was a student at Dowen College in Lagos State till his death, according to Perrie via Twitter.
Dowen College, which denies the charges, claims that the deceased was injured while playing football and received urgent medical assistance from the school’s resident nurse.
Perrie, Sylvester Junior’s cousin, did, however, broadcast a video about his health before he died.
Days before his death, 12-year-old Slyvester could be seen wincing in obvious pain in the footage.
In response to the video, Ayra Starr requested that the school be closed down until adequate investigations are completed.
We can’t continue to brush situations like this under the rug, according to Ayra Starr.
”Shut Down the whole school until this has been investigated thoroughly, we can’t keep allowing issues like this to be swept under the rug, please let’s do this for Sylvester.”She wrote.
Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the concerns surrounding the death of one of its students, Sylvester, Dowen College has announced the school’s temporary closure.
The school has sent out a notice to parents and guardians informing them that the school will be closed for two days.
