The assistant made fun of Minister Festus Keyamo and NiDCOM Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who serve as Tinubu’s campaign spokespersons, for uploading photos that were later discovered to have been shot much earlier.

He emphasised that despite the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari, whom Tinubu had been pleading with for support, the Sokoto event had a low turnout. Shaibu said, “Festus Keyamo, a senior counsel and former EFCC prosecutor tweeted a photo of a crowded festival in Chicago and passed it off as the Sokoto demonstration” and “Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, who oversees the social media arm of the APC campaign” likewise spread “false news.”

The Defense Headquarters has denied meeting the former Vice President and said that anyone disseminating false information would be asked to provide evidence for their claims by law enforcement.

Shaibu, however, denied the Tinubu campaign team’s assertion that his principal was responsible for the shortages of gasoline and the naira.

“Atiku left office in 2007, 16 years ago. How could he be behind a government policy when he lacks executive powers?” He snorted.

Dele Alake, the spokesperson for the APC campaign, was also made fun of by Shaibu for saying that the footage in which Tinubu referenced “bala blu” during a town hall in Imo State in November had been doctored.

The statement praised people and organisations for verifying Alake’s allegation and cautioned Nigerians from being “conned by corn lovers.
