Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended the Committee of Wives Of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, for ensuring that women in the State remain relevant in the scheme of things by providing the necessary knowledge and training they need for them to function optimally.
In a good will message to the opening of this year’s edition of COWLSO’s conference, with the theme: “Exploring the Possibilities In a New World”, Governor Sanwo-Olu said he was proud to say that the annual conference has had positive impacts on women as they have become more visible and vocal in their contributions to the political and socio-economic growth of the State and Nigeria.
The Governor assured the over 6, 000 virtual participants and those on ground at the venue of the conference of Government’s continued support saying that he was excited about the topics which would be treated.
On his part, Osun State’s Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who is the special guest of honour described the theme of the conference as an apt strategy to equip women to live up to their role as the bearers and managers of people’s lives and to swiftly mobilise and prepare humanity to find solutions to the challenges that Covid-19 had thrown at mankind and explore opportunities inherent in the New Normal.
Topics which would be treated over the next two days of the conference include legal rights of women and nation building, physical and mental health, investment and wealth building, opportunities in Agriculture, digital technology and social media as well as environmental sanitation and personal hygiene.
