Aisha Buhari, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has urged Nigerians to pray for the country only hours after the APC convention in Abuja’s Eagles Square.

The first lady used her verified Facebook page to share a photo of a lit candle on a dark background, along with a photo of herself.
She used the hashtag #prayfornigeria in her post.
‘Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the Best Guardian,’ was scrawled beneath the candlelight. ‘Excellent Protector and Excellent Assistant.’
Aisha’s remark comes after her husband’s preferred nominee for the role of ruling party national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, was ratified.

The confirmation of Adamu, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party, as well as other members of the APC National Working Committee and Zonal Leaders, took place during the party’s convention, which started on Saturday and finished in the early hours of Sunday at Eagles Square in Abuja.
Many Nigerians have criticized Adamu’s appearance, pointing out that the lawmaker has been charged with 149 charges of suspected fraudulent contract award and theft of N15 billion in public monies.
