The Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Hon Michael Inelagwu, has responded to a press statement by Mallam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media.
Hon Michael Inelagwu, speaking at a world press conference on Friday, said that all Nigerians regret electing General Muhammadu Buhari as president, and that only those Nigerians who are deaf and cannot hear citizens lamenting the country’s security and economic crisis continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.
He said, “It will interest Shehu to know that it is not only the Governor that regrets voting Buhari as President in 2015. Majority of Nigerians, including his die-hard supporters in 2015 and 2019 do and it is only those who are deaf, probably like Shehu, that cannot hear the loud cry by Nigerians to be rescued by the PDP from APC’s mismanagement of Nigeria’s political leadership since 2015.”
Garba Shehu was correct in his statement, according to the information commissioner “Nigeria has had enough of failed politicians” and will be too glad to see one of them, President Muhammadu Buhari leave office next year.
Unlike President Buhari, who is focused on reviving cattle routes in the twenty-first century, Governor Ortom, who has championed the path of ranching in the country, is a leader who offers solutions to Nigeria’s difficulties, according to the Commissioner.
Inalegwu said it’s surprising that the president’s media aide failed to mention the country’s grave security challenges in his response to Governor Ortom’s interview on Arise TV, despite the Governor’s facts and figures proving the despicable deterioration of the security situation nationally and in Benue State under President Buhari.
Garba Shehu’s reference to President Buhari’s call for the resumption of century-old animal husbandry, which is not implementable in this age, he continued, is disgusting.
