The Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebu land, Oba Dr. Sikiru Adetona has on Tuesday, 7 July, 2020 announced the cancelation of this year’s celebration of Ojude Ode festival in view of the current situation of the Country.
Oba Dr. Adetona in a statement signed by the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye Oba A.A. Adenugba said that the cancelation of the Ojude Oba festival became necessary as a result of the out break pandemic and urge all sons and daughters of Ijebu land to have a peaceful celebration.
The Paramount ruler also advised members of the public to abide by the directives of staying safe, regular hand washing and maintaining social and physical distancing.
It will be recalled that the Ojude oba festival is mostly celebrated on the third day of eid -il- kabir “ileya” celebrated by Muslims faithfuls.
