Oluwatuyi Olasoji, the Akure South Local Government of Ondo State’s Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) chairman, passed away.
After allegedly collapsing last week while attempting to purchase fuel at a petrol station in the state capital, Olasoji was taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo. On Monday, it was said, he had surgery and surrendered to the spirit.

Recently, the nation has had a petroleum shortage, with drivers continuing to complain as long queues at petrol stations exacerbated traffic and left many stuck at bus stops with quadrupled transportation charges.
The scarcity of fuel in Lagos, Ogun State, Abuja, and several other parts of the country has resulted in an increase in transportation costs, even though the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited has said that all fuel-related concerns have been resolved.
When majority of filling stations closed and the ones that remained open frequently refused to sell to customers or motorists, InTv observed that drivers and okada riders doubled their fares. This led to irate drivers buying from black marketers who stood along the road and charged as much as N1,500 per litre.
Commuters already dealing with the difficulties brought on by the continuous shortage now have additional work to bear as a result of this sudden hike in transit costs.
