At the conclusion of the 62nd Annual General Conference of the association, he was sworn in.

Maikyau was extremely appreciative of God for bringing him this far at the swearing-in event, which marked the conclusion of the 62nd Annual General Conference of the association and was held at the Eko Hotel & Suites.

The outgoing Akpata administration was praised by the new President for the enormous advancements the NBA saw during the previous two years.

Maikyau promised to make service to the cause of justice a cornerstone of his government in his thank-you speech to his coworkers at YC Maikyau & Co., his campaign team, and friends and associates who helped make his candidacy possible.

He also challenged the Federal Government to commit to safeguarding people’s lives and property across the nation.

The recent wave of banditry, kidnapping, killings, and cattle rustling that has plagued the nation was denounced by the new NBA President.

Maikyau said, “The Nigerian state is passing through a perilous time. There is the insecurity challenge and the situation appears so overwhelming.

“This voice of the legal profession must speak against the terror in the land and this is the charge that my administration will spearhead.”

“The prosperity of lawyers can not be undermined in the society, the bar must earn the confidence and trust of the people,” he charged.

His first assignment was the swearing in of other members of his cabinet which includes: Linda Rose Bala – 1st Vice President, Clement Ugo Chukwuemeka – 2nd Vice President, Amanda Demechi-Asagba – 3rd Vice President, Adesina Adegbite – General Secretary, Daniel Ka-Ayii Kip – Assistant General Secretary, Caroline Anze-Bishop – Treasurer, Chinyere Gladys Obasi – Welfare Secretary, Akorede Habeeb Lawal – Publicity Secretary, Charles Olawale Ajiboye – Assistant Publicity Secretary.
