FCT minister, Malam Musa Mohammed has released the second tranche of fund to athletes representing FCT at the ongoing 20th National Sports Festival in Edo state.
The minister through the permanent secretary, Olusade Adesola released the first payment to the athletes before the team left Abuja for Edo state and has now made another transfer of fund to boost the morale of the athletes as the Sports Festival heats up.
Speaking on receiving the fund, the acting director of sport, FCT Luka Istifanus said the fund is coming at the right time when the morale of the athletes need to be boosted
‘This is a blessing in disguise because this is coming at a time the athletes really need it and I must thank the permanent secretary, Olusade Adesola who has been more like a father figure and also understand the plight of the athletes and he has ensured that the team does not suffer before, during and after the games’.
Meanwhile team FCT has moved to 12th on the table with 3 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals with potential of winning more medals in games where their strength lies.
