Ridwanullah, Sheikh Adam Abdullah Al Ilory’s first son and the founder of Morkaz Arabic and Islamic Training in Agege, Lagos State, has died.
Ridwanullah died in Lagos on Saturday morning, according to reports.
Sheikh Ridwanullah was survived by five children and died of an unexplained illness.
“Yes, he is dead. He died after Sahur (the meal consumed early in the morning by Muslims before fasting). We have prayed on him. We are about to inter him,” one of his family members said.
Sheikh Ridwanullah, the first child of the late Adam Abdullah Al Ilory, is a revered Yoruba Islamic cleric.
Ridwanullah’s death comes just two months after Markaz’s owner, Sheikh Habeeb, suffered a stroke while preaching in Ilorin, Kwara State.
On Thursday, February 4, 2022, a stroke occurred during the Nikkah ceremony for the daughter of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Alfa Belgore.
The Islamic scholar, who collapsed minutes into his sermon, was transported to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital’s Stroke Unit for treatment.
On the first day of his yearly Ramadan lecture on Saturday, April 2, 2022, he offered appreciation to God while telling about his suffering.
When the incident occurred, Habeeb said he lost consciousness.
He indicated that in order to properly recover, he would delegate the daily Markaz Ramadan lectures to other clerics and lecturers at the university.
