Liverpool beat Arsenal 2-0 in the second half thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino, bringing them to within a point of league leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool got off to a good start, and Aaron Ramsdale had to save Virgil van Dijk’s third-minute header.
Arsenal built with confidence and had some fine moments of possession, but Liverpool took control after a quickfire double shortly after half-time.
On 54 minutes, Thiago Alcantara’s wonderful through-ball found Jota, who slid a shot past Ramsdale at the near post to open the score.
After eight minutes, Andrew Robertson chased down a loose ball and crossed low for Firmino to score.
Liverpool now has 69 points after their eleventh consecutive league victory. Arsenal are still in fourth place with 51 points, one point ahead of Manchester United in the top-four fight, with two games in hand.
