The menace of thugs, popularly called “agbero” operating under the guise of Transport Unions in Lagos will soon be a thing of the past.
This is because the State Government is now ready to roll out its new Bus Reform system.
Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Federic Oladehinde, made this known during this year’s annual Ministerial briefing in Alausa Ikeja.
Dr. Oladehinde who admitted that perennial traffic in some strategic roads was a challenge to the State Government, assured that once the reform process begins, it would enable residents have smooth transportation experience.
He also hinted that first and last Mile buses would soon become operational in the inners roads to phase out Motorcycles which have caused lots of accidents.
While reeling out some of the Ministry’s achievement in the last two years, Dr. Oladehinde stated that funding has been secured to complete the blue line rail which would commence operation by the last quarter of next year.
