The officers of Area “E” police Command, Festac, Lagos, have been arrested a five gang of suspected thieves connection with property of China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCEC) as N500,000 offered rejected by the officers.
The incident happened reportedly happened on Sunday 11th April 2021 at exactly 3:00 am around the Volkswagen bus stop and Iyana-Iba on Mile 2-Badagry Expressway.
The suspects as Lawal Saheed, 40; Taofeek Adenigba, 43; Ope Olowolayemo, 28; Azeez Jamie, 41 and Omotayo Adewale, m, 34.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (CSP), Olumuyiwa Adejobi the suspects, when arrested by the police operatives, were alleged to have offered a bribe of Five Hundred Thousand Naira only (#500,000) to the police operatives, who rejected the offer and went ahead to arrest them with the stolen iron rods”.
“The properties discovery includes stolen 25mm iron rods, one Nozzle, a gas cylinder and some property of the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) and a blue Ford bus, marked FST 679 XZ ”
The PPRO revealed, adding that the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has, however, ordered that the matter be thoroughly investigated and the suspects are charged to court as soon as possible.
