Edwin Clark, the Pan-Niger Delta Forum’s head, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to follow the Appeal Court’s decision and free Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Buhari date of birth: Muhammadu Buhari regime as President of Nigeria from 1980s - BBC News Pidgin

The Elder statesman remembered how President Muhammadu Buhari promised during multiple meetings with Southeast stakeholders that he would abide by the court’s ruling regarding the IPOB commander in a statement on Monday.

Malami was also confronted by Clark on his position, accusing him of having abandoned a portion of his duties and engaging in what he called “executive rascality.”

“Now that the Court of Appeal has given its judgment on the matter, I am imploring the President to obey the judgment of the court and release the young man, and allow peace to reign.

“I have, sadly, observed that the Attorney General has, no doubt, abandoned part of his job and is now involved in ‘executive rascality’, to the chagrin and dismay of patriotic Nigerians at home and abroad,” he added.

Recalls that the IPOB leader had been cleared by the Appeal Court of all terrorism-related allegations brought against him by the Federal Government.

Kanu was just dismissed, not cleared, according to Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami.

Malami’s position was supported by the National Security Council, which refuted Kanu’s total exoneration. Despite the ruling, the development has maintained the secessionist in the Department of State Services’ (DSS) possession.
