The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede has urged candidates having difficulties in registering for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, which is ongoing across the Country to lay their complain to the board through JAMB website.
He said that all they needed to do was to create a support ticket on JAMB website which would enable them to lay their complaint to JAMB for prompt attention.
Prof. Oloyede made this known while addressing newsmen in Lagos after going round some Computer Based Centres in the metropolis to ascertain the challenges some candidates and their parents claimed they were having as they tried to register.
He explained that having gone through the CBT centres and interacted with some of the candidates, it was obvious that most of the complaints made by some candidates were based on some errors they committed while trying to generate their profile on their phones using their NIN.
He explained that some candidates request for their profiles on their phones using JAMB specified codes and their NIN without having enough money on their phones to generate their profiles.
The JAMB boss also expressed dissatisfaction at the rate at which some parents influenced their children wrongly while registering for the UTME.
Prof. Oloyede urged parents to support JAMB in having a seamless Registration execise by allowing their wards to follow the necessary instructions they had already been given to achieve a stress free Registration, rather than influence them wrongly.
Prof. Oloyede however, expressed satisfaction at the level of progress the CBT centres visited were making in registeration of candidates without serious cahallenges.
