The ongoing verification of Federal Civil Servants on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS, is part of reforms aimed at enhancing the service and its workforce.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Service, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, stated this during an inspection tour of one of the centres at the National Broadcast Academy of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, in Ikeja Lagos.
Accompanied by the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi – Esan, Senator Shekarau lauded the progress made so far by the exercise, adding that it would help the Government to regularise the database of its workforce.
The Chairman explained that the exercise would enable Government embark on other measures such as recruitment, promotion and other incentives for workers.
Senator Shekarau advised both Civil and Public servants to see their roles as critical to nation building through commitment to the implementation of Government policies and programmes.
On her part, the Head of Service, Dr. Yemi – Esan warned that those who did not partake in the verification would have their salaries suspended.
Dr Yemi – Esan commended the managements of the parastatal involved for proper coordination and thanked those who provided spaces for the exercise
The inspection team was received by the management of the NBC led by the Director, Mr. Ike Okere and the General Manager of Bond FM, Mrs Adenike Adegoke.
