Trucks carrying weapons and other potentially lethal weaponry and charms were stopped from entering the state from the northern region of the nation by the Ondo State Security Network, also known as Amotekun Corps.

Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the state commander of Amotekun Corps, stated that the organisation has been keeping a watch on the unusual human influx that has occurred over the past several weeks in and around forest reserves and other areas of the state.

Adeleye clarified that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had ordered that buses transporting students in the state be guarded and under close observation. Adeleye stated that another group of thirty suspected criminals had been apprehended two weeks prior.

“We started having a very heavy influx of strange people within our forest reserve areas and the territory of Ondo State a couple of weeks ago,” he stated.

The majority of those who entered the state claiming to be hunters were apprehended near high-crime areas where kidnapping and robberies occur in the local governments where they were apprehended.

They pretended to be from different sections of the nation while shockingly and meticulously hiding and keeping their guns, bags of Indian hemp, and cutlasses under their cars.

Adeleye continued, saying that while some of the 149 individuals who were detained have been profiled, others are still being questioned.
