Sammie Okposo, a Nigerian gospel singer, has apologized to his wife for cheating on her.
On Tuesday, the musician apologized to his wife and family on his Instagram page. “Dear friends,” he wrote, “I feel compelled to bring a very terrible occurrence to your attention because, while I am not proud of it, I believe it is the correct thing to do.”
I got personally connected with a lady on my recent trip to the United States (late 2021), knowing that this was inappropriate for a married man and a minister of the gospel. My acts have caused a great deal of anguish to my lovely wife, Ozioma, my family, and myself, and I am ashamed of them. I am stopping my ministry activities until I have made peace with God, repented, and asked for his forgiveness, as this is what is proper and what I know I owe to God and his people.”
He added, “Yo my wife Ozioma I am sincerely sorry I put you through this shameful embarrassing situation. I broke your trust and disappointed you. Your forgiveness of my moral failure and poor judgement is important to me. I pray I will eventually be able to build back the trust and confidence every single day for the rest of my life.
“I want to take this moment to apologize to all my fathers and mothers of the faith and misters of the gospel for my behaviour and moral failure. I won’t be here if not for your investment and belief in what God has called me to do. I sincerely apologise for for this embarrassing situation.”
Okposo’s apology came after a woman accused him of impregnating her and then abandoning her.
African Doll, in an interview with Obodo Oyinbo Tv, accused the gospel musician of dating her for several months on one of his tours in Dallas, Texas, and then changing his mind when she became pregnant. She claimed that the artist urged her to terminate the pregnancy, but when she refused, he abruptly changed his mind.
