Reverend Esther Ajayi, commonly known as Iya Adura, the founder of the Love of Christ Generation Church, has asked Christians to back their prayers with deeds by carrying out their civic responsibilities and casting ballots to elect their favourite candidates in the next general elections.

Get PVCs, prayers alone won't change leaders – Rev. Esther Ajayi - News Agency of Nigeria

Iya Adura, who made this known while answering questions from journalists at an event recently, stressed that while prayers are important, doing them alone won’t be enough since there is a portion of prayers that the person praying must carry out.

“My advice to Nigerians is to look at this card I’m holding, this is my PVC. It is your power. I wanted to talk to my people about it today but that didn’t happen because I had to come here. It’s my agenda for our meeting next week.”

“The PVC is your power, don’t lose it. Go and vote. That’s the only way you can change whoever is leading. At least your conscience tells you that you’ve got to vote. So, goand vote!”

“Prayer will help you. Prayer is important, but when you carry out the practical aspect of prayer it enhances the prayer, and makes it go straight to God,” she quipped.

In a separate incident, she hinted on how Nigerians could navigate the year 2023 successfully in a press release as she welcomed the body of Christ to what she termed “2023: the Year of Possessing My Possessions.”

In a different instance, she greeted the body of Christ to what she dubbed “2023: the Year of Possessing My Possessions” and offered some advice on how Nigerians should effectively traverse the year 2023 in a press release.

The statement included a call for Christians to act with more grace and love. The clergyman referred to Love as the main virtue in the Bible.

She urged Christians to establish and cherish relationships because Christ would. Yes, one must “beware of associates with hidden agendas, but endeavour to live in peace with all mankind. Healthy interpersonal relationships have their place. Hebrews 12:14 informs us of this.

“That is God’s advice, and it has advantages beyond simply my own. It is quite effective, the clergyman said.

“Times are transforming quickly, and unemployment is rising. Even those with good education are having trouble obtaining work, which adds additional stress on families. But I’m confident that Nigerians would have greater prospects in 2023 with prayers and the appropriate approach toward new sectors and cutting-edge technology,” she said.
