Federal Ministry Of Youth And Sports Development Set To Resolve The National Youth Council Of Nigeria Crisis

The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is set to inaugurate a committee towards the
resolution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) leadership crisis

This was made know in a press release signed by the a permanent Secretary in the ministry, Gabriel T
Aduda today 12 May, 2020.

The statement reads in part " In furtherance of its previous efforts to resolve the National Youth Council
of Nigeria leadership crisis, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in the exercise of its
supervisory responsibilities has concluded plans to inaugurate a Committee on the resolution of the
National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Leadership Crisis. The Committee which will be inaugurated
soonest, comprises the following:

In view of the above, it is expedient for the NYCN to note that the directive of the Ministry on the
maintenance of the status quo ante on all activities of the Youth Council remains extant, till the
Committee completes its work"
The Youth and sports Ministry has warned that the directive of the Ministry on the maintenance of the
status quo ante on all activities of the Youth Council remains extent, till the Committee completes it's
job.
The Ministry also advised all MDAs, Government of States and Local Governments, the Media, (Print and
Electronic) and the general public to seek clarification from the Federal Ministry of Youth and sports

before granting recognition to any individual or group claiming to be President of the National Youth
Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
