Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, ex-Senate President Pius Anyim, professor Dennis Ityavyar, Ibrahim Shema, and Aslam Aliyu has been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to “anti-party activities.”
Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary, said in a statement on Thursday that the suspension began today, March 23, 2023.
Fayose had frequently attributed the PDP’s defeat in the presidential election on the party’s lack of preparation on the part of the leadership.
Additionally, he didn’t support northern Nigerian Atiku Abubakar for president of the PDP on the grounds that authority should move back to the south of the nation.

Along with the individuals who have been suspended, the PDP reported that it has referred Governor Samuel Ortom to its disciplinary committee.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has referred the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Samuel Ortom to the National Disciplinary Committee over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities,” the PDP scribe said. “This is in accordance with the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) and after a very extensive review of the affairs of our Party in the country.”
The statement added that at this crucial moment, “the PDP urges all leaders, significant stakeholders, and teeming members of our party across the country to remain united and focused.”
