Both Brazil players Alex Telles and Gabriel Jesus will miss the rest of the campaign due to injury, so neither will play again in the 2022 World Cup.
Despite losing 1-0 to Cameroon in their final match in the group stage, The Selecao nevertheless managed to take first place in Group G.
Coach Tite decided to rest starters before the knockout rounds, therefore both Telles and Jesus played in the game.
As revealed by Globoesporte and confirmed by MARCA, Tite won’t have access to the two players throughout this World Cup.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) released a statement that said, “As indicated by the CBF following the encounter against Cameroon, players Alex Telles and Gabriel Jesus underwent tests on Saturday morning.”
“Accompanied by the doctor of the Brazilian National Team, Rodrigo Lasmar, they underwent an MRI on the right knees that confirmed the injuries and that it is impossible to recover in time to participate in the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
“The coordinator of the Brazilian National Team, Juninho Paulista, is in contact with the sporting directors of Arsenal and Sevilla to decide whether Alex Telles and Gabriel Jesus stay with the squad in Doha to continue their treatment or if they return to their clubs.”
In the 55th minute of the match against Cameroon, Telles was changed. In the 64th minute, Pedro from Flamengo substituted Gabriel Jesus in place of Alex Sandro, who had to take a break due to an injury.
The Arsenal striker’s entourage claims that he will be out for at least three weeks.
