Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old Dowen College pupil, died a ‘natural death,’ according to authorities in Lagos State.
However, state Commissioner of Police Hakeem Odumosu announced that a Coroner Inquest would be conducted to determine the reason of the student’s death.
While addressing with reporters on Friday, the Lagos police chief stated that the two autopsy results–one from the dead student’s family and the other from all parties involved and the Lagos State government–showed that Sylvester died of natural causes.
He further added that toxicology tests conducted in Delta State and Lagos State found no evidence of homicide on the student’s body.
During the autopsy test in Lagos, however, 13 pathologists and experts from all parties involved were present, according to the police chief.
He advised individuals intending to go to any length to protest the investigations’ findings to follow the legal path or face the full force of the law.
