Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) on Friday commiserate with the family of senator Abiola Ajimobi on the death of the Former governor of Oyo State.
This is according to a statement by the National President Dr. Samson Ayokunle through his Media aide Pastor Bayo Oladeji describe the death of senator Ajimobi as a painful loss to the entire Christians in Oyo State.
Senator Ajimobi who died of Corona virus complications in a private hospital on Thursday was described as a politician per excellence who made efforts in maintaining peaceful relation between the Christians are Muslims folks in the States while serving as the Governor of Oyo State for 8 years.
” The Christian Association of Nigeria with heavy hearts commiserate with the family of the late governor and senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for this very painful loss.
” at the same time we commiserate with the incumbent governor of oyo state engineer Seyi Makinde and the entire people of Oyo State over this irreplaceable loss.
” though a Muslim, he gave the Christian body in the state the opportunity of contributing to the progress of Oyo State, most especially by permitting the Christian women in the States to organise regular prayers in the state and allowing them to be covered live by both radio and television arms of the Broadcasting Corporation Service of Oyo State (BCOS).
” though he was not an angel, just like all of us he did his best for the people of Oyo state and ensuring that piece rain throughout his two-time tenure.
” once again they prayed for the family of late governor, the government, and people of Oyo state that God will grant you all the fortitude to bear the loss.
In a new development, the family of late Senator Ajimobi has announced the burial ceremony date as Sunday 28th June, 2020.
