At a series of engagements last week, President Muhammadu Buhari urged Nigerians to join the Federal Government in combating destabilizing agents.

On April 19, Buhari made the announcement at a Ramadan fasting break attended by governors, ministers, and chiefs of government agencies.

He said that some forces were determined to bring the country’s law and order system to a halt, and vowed that no individual or group would be permitted to destabilize Nigeria.

On Tuesday, the president hosted Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo.

Uzodinma briefed Buhari on the security situation in the state, particularly the recent assassination of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state by bandits.

Two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident, according to the governor, who spoke to State House media after the closed-door meeting with the president.

The suspects, he claims, are currently assisting the police in their investigation.

On a tragic day, INEC officials were attacked while conducting ongoing continuous voter registration.

Buhari also attended the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) National Executive Committee’s (NEC) 11th meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

As the 2023 general election approaches, the president warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership at both the national and state levels against imposing unpopular candidates.

He also urged the party’s leadership to constantly follow proper procedures when running the organization and to build additional anti-corruption systems.

On the same day, Buhari met with Karin Ahmad Khan, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), in the State House in Abuja, where he spoke about Boko Haram’s character and actions.

According to him, the Boko Haram insurgency has no religious or ethnic underpinnings, and the majority of Nigerians have discovered the truth about the terrorists as a result of increased enlightenment.

Nigerians have realized that Boko Haram was a religious perversion rather than an Islamic philosophy, he claimed.

On Wednesday, the Nigerian leader hosted the Nigeria Integrated Biopharmaceuticals Industries Consortium (NIBI) leadership, which was led by Mr. Vilarugel Cuyas, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Fredlab.

Buhari asked the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, to present a progress report on the country’s indigenous vaccine manufacturing by the end of May 2022.

President Muhammadu Buhari expressed regret on Thursday for the deaths of two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pilots in a jet crash in Kaduna on Tuesday.

In a statement sent by his media adviser, Malam Garba Shehu, the president reacted to the deaths of the two pilots, Abubakar Alkali and Elijah Haruna Karatu.

Shehu also assured Nigerians on Thursday that the Council of State’s decision to award pardons to former governors Joshua Dariye and Jolly Nyame, as well as 157 others, will not jeopardize the federal government’s anti-corruption operations.

“Nothing done here was intended to achieve a political end or send a revisionist message on the relentless war against corruption which he has ably and evidently led by personal examples,” Shehu quoted Buhari as saying.

On Thursday, President Buhari convened a security meeting in response to the Council of State’s recommendations regarding security challenges in several parts of the country.

At a meeting of the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on Wednesday, the president warned of tighter security measures in troubled areas of the country and reviewed operational strategy.

Buhari urged security services to immediately rescue all captives held by kidnappers and terrorists across the country during his meeting with security leaders.

The president gave the order, according to the National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno, at the National Security Council’s first meeting, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House.

Buhari, he claimed, conveyed his disgust with the country’s ongoing murderous operations by bandits, terrorists, and kidnappers.

The president received Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Industries Ltd, and members of the Group’s Board of Directors in the Presidential Villa on Friday.

At the event, Buhari urged entrepreneurs and investors to pour their ideas and resources into sectors that will help the economy thrive and create jobs, and reduce poverty in the long run.

The president stated that the issues in the transportation and energy sectors would continue to occupy his administration’s attention and that infrastructure repair would remain the government’s top priority.

As a result, he advised local entrepreneurs and foreign investors to concentrate on topics that would positively impact people’s lives.

Following the death of the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi III, the president sent a condolence letter to the government and people of Oyo State.

Adeyemi was 83 years old at the time of his death, and his reign saw the country go through enormous historical changes. Adeyemi’s rule, according to Buhari, saw changes in his domain.

He stated that the Alaafin’s 52 years of rule were notable in numerous respects, the most notable of which was his emphasis on human growth.
