President Muhammadu Buhari has authorised the reorganisation of the National Broadcasting Commission’s Governing Board (NBC).
According to Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, the board was reconstituted when the tenure of the previous board expired.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Special Assistant to the President (Media), Office of the Minister of Information and Culture, Segun Adeyemi, said the board is chaired by Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa.
Mr. Wada Asab Ibrahim, Mr. Iheanyichukwu Azubike Dike, Mrs. Adesola Oyinloye Ndu, and Mr. Olaniyan Olatunji Badmus were among the other members chosen by President Buhari to represent various interests as mandated by the NBC Act, according to Mohammed.
“Also on the Board are Mr. Bashir Ibrahim, Mr. Obiora Ilo, Mr, Ahmad
Engr. Bayo Erikitola, a State Security representative, Sajo
Service, a spokesman for the Federal Ministry of Information and Communications,
Culture, as well as the Commission’s Director-General.
“The Board has a three-year tenure,” Mohammed said.
