Following the incessant dent of the All Progressive Congress party’s image by members of the People’s Democratic Party in Ekiti State, a Federal lawmaker who once represented Ekiti North Federal Constituency, Abimbola Daramola has urged everyone to be conscious of the image that the PDP is giving the APC.
According to him, this could affect the party in future because “Ekiti people hardly forget, and 80% of the Ekiti electorate are not on social media, what they rely upon is word of mouth!”
Recalling his ordeal as the Director General of governor Kayode Fayemi re-election campaign in June 2014, Daramola said name calling should be stopped.
“Whoever was a part of all these over eighteen years will somewhat be unhappy that the same party is today on the various Whatzapp platforms being called #Akotileta #Progressives #Congress or #Arungun #Progressives #Congress. We owe ourselves the duty to nip this in the bud NOW.“ Daramola said.
Daramola expressed his unhappiness on the aforementioned issue and stated his decision to stay clear of the discussion between APC and the government.
“I have made up my mind to keep quiet and just manage my business. And I have done that largely well focusing on edifying interests and goals over and above pettiness.” Meanwhile, the lawmaker accused Honorable Ade Ajayi, the PRO of Ekiti state APC of not speaking the truth while justifying his suspension.
“You were defending the lie, by saying there was election in Ikole and Oye Local Government areas, when you knew that there was no election but selection, your agents Akin Owolabi and Bola Alegbeleye both cannot swear that there was! But you defended it. Now it’s time to speak up for the party and your voice is not that loud anymore.
Recall that the lawmaker was suspended on May 28, 2019 for allegedly supporting the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar openly in the general elections and institution of a court case against the APC candidate in his Federal constituency, Peter Owolabi, in the election.
