The Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government in Lagos has banned activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, motorcycle popularly called ‘Okada’, and tricycle, known as ‘Keke Marwa’ operators in Ajegunle and its environs.
In a statement by the Chairman of the council area said the ban on their activities would remain effective pending conclusion of investigation over the recent looting, arson, destruction of buildings, property, bank facilities and vehicles inside the Council secretariat.
According to the statement, relevant security agencies, including the State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, NURTW Lagos Council Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo and other stakeholders have been briefed on the development.
The Council Secretariat was set on fire during the EndSARS protests.
