Mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor has announced his retirement.
The former two-division Ultimate Fighting Championship World Champion, in a Twitter message, says his fighting days were over. The controversial Irish fighter nicknamed “The Notorious” had earlier announced his retirement in 2006 via Social Media when he and the UFC argued about media obligations around a fight with Nata Diaz.
In 2019, McGregor “retired” for the second time which he also made the announcement on Social media. That was after he was battered by arch-rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018,
His most recent fight was a 40- second TKO win over Donald Cerrone in January, 2020. That bout served as the main event of UFC 246. It remains to be seen, if he is serious this time this time around.
