Polygamy is a better type of marriage for Africans, according to well-known Nigerian comedian and actor Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, often known as Okey Bakassi. He claims that monogamy is failing in the region since many couples in monogamous marriages are just acting happy.
In an interview with the Honest Bunch Podcast, Bakassi expressed his opinions, saying: “Forget all the lip services that we pay to polygamy here. I continue to believe that polygamy is the ideal type of African marriage. Monogamy isn’t effective.

“We are pretending. Now, what’s the difference between polygamy and monogamy? Polygamy says you can marry two people at the same time. Monogamy says you cannot marry them at the same time, you have to let one go. What if you don’t want to let one go?”
