She stated that the alleged defamation had hurt her, left her traumatised and unwell, and diminished her reputation in society at large.

“Contrary to the defamatory statement in the print and electronic media as well as online media, I never assaulted my former orderly neither did I instruct anyone else to do so.

“Such an incident never took place in my house as there are CCTV cameras all over the street surroundings to debunk the claim.

“Contrary to the allegations, I have never asked the former orderly to carry out any domestic chores as sophisticated robot machines like Alexa are installed in the place. I was never a suspect but a victim of a frame-up by the defendants,’’ she said.

The plaintiff, who claimed to be the Nigeria Police’s Chief Legal Consultant in the current position, stated that she was relying on all pertinent information and paperwork related to the lawsuit.

In her writ of summons, Prof. Abiola asked the court for a statement that the police’s actions against her had given her nightmares and kept her constantly afraid for her life.

As a result, the plaintiff urged the court to order the defendants to pay her N100 billion as compensation.

She further requested that the court issue an order compelling the defendants to withdraw their prior claims in a press statement and to offer an unequivocal public apologies in all print and electronic media.

She is requesting N1 billion in addition to “an award of 10% interest on the judgement total from the date of judgement till complete liquidation of the judgement” in addition to the 10% interest.

A judge has not yet been assigned to the case.
