Sen. Okpebholo made a vow to advance Edo State shortly after the election results were announced, stating that Edo was growing and that “Edo people have elected the right person for the job.” A fresh Edo is emerging. My goal is to grow Edo State and make Edo the better place it deserves to be. I would like to inform you that I shall begin where Adams Oshiomhole left off. Edo will experience a fresh metamorphosis and, with God’s grace, persevere.

Although Okpebholo only won one of the three senatorial districts, he was able to win 11 of the state’s 18 local councils. He was victorious in Edo North, the home of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, but lost to Ighodalo, a native of Edo Central, in both Edo Central and Edo South.
