Eko Akete (Mainland) Co-operative Multipurpose Society Limited conducted its 62nd Annual General Meeting and presented its annual reports.
The Annual General Meeting of the Cooperative Multipurpose Society was held in the Sir Gabriel Orororo Hall in Ikotun, Lagos. Zachius Mobolaji, President of the society, urged Nigerians, particularly Lagosians, to join its ranks because of the professionalism demonstrated in the administration of members’ funds over the last 62 years.

Mobolaji noted that the Society began with less than twenty members 62 years ago and currently has over thirteen thousand members representing various ministries, parastatals, and government agencies, claiming that the driving factor is the transparency with which the members’ finances are administered.
The President stated that “the leadership of the Society, particularly the founding members, did not allow politics to influence the selection of managers of the people’s funds.” They never invested members’ money in pool betting or gambling.
“I therefore use this opportunity to call on investors to take full advantage of the Housing Estate by partnering with the society to build Houses in the Land the Cooperative has bought through Build Operate and Transfer in Badagry, Ikorodu and Epe axis of Lagos state” .
The President clarified that Cooperative loans are advantageous for members in order to support their children. fees for education, housing, children’s weddings, medical expenses, retirement benefits, commodity supply, international travel, purchasing a home, and other expenses
For their beneficial contributions to the society’s expansion and development, he congratulated the management team, zonal coordinators, members of the various committees, and employees.
Mr. Oriyomi Ayeola, President of the International Cooperative Alliance Africa, urged the Federal Government to work with the Cooperative Society to make the country a better place for all by channelling various Palliative through Cooperative Societies.
