It is our responsibility as the guardians of the resources in our community to make sure that no qualified student is turned away because of a lack of funds.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Rasulu Olusola Idowu (Mr. Project), expressed the aforementioned views to around 200 indigenous and resident students of Ojo Local Government on Thursday at the presentation of the annual year 2023 Bursary Award at the Multipurpose Hall, Ojo.

The Executive Chairman went on to provide the following breakdown of the Bursary Award: There are around N5 million to support the following Indigenes: 2 medical students, N50,000 each; 8 law students, N40,000 each; 10 five-year courses, N30,000 each; 99 other students, N25,000 each; and 74 residents, N20,000 each.

As he firmly believed that an educated society is a prosperous society, Hon. Idowu expressed optimism that investing in education is an investment in the future of Ojo Local Government. He also added that by empowering young minds, we are laying the groundwork for inclusive and sustainable development.

Because students are our future leaders, the LG Boss made a plea to parents and guardians to advise their children and wards to avoid drug misuse, cultism, and any other behaviour that could damage their reputation and overall image of society.

The 34th LASUS Students Parliamentary Council (SPC) Speaker-elect, Hajjia Hassan Halima, who is also an Indigenous member of the community, responded by praising the Executive Chairman for his outstanding contributions to the field of education, which will contribute to a better future for the students who represent the community as its ambassadors.
