A socialite known only as Madam Success has been held in custody after being accused of inducing four college students to engage in prostitution in Delta State.
Aged between 13 and 15, the victims who were brought by the suspect from Akwa Ibom State to Agbor, Delta State, on the pretence of turning them become sales ladies, were reportedly placed in a brothel and forced to sleep with at least five men each day.

After being charged on Friday before a magistrates court, the defendant was remanded in custody after having her bail denied.
Ify Obinabo, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Welfare, informed journalists that she and the police attacked a vehicle park in Onitsha on the basis of a tip-off in order to rescue the four female students who were being held by their trafficker en route to Delta State.
Madam Success was arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Magistrates’ Court in Awka, Anambra State, according to a news release from Ikeanyionwu.
While recounting their experiences to journalists, the female pupils said that the socialite had made job promises to them.
One of the victims who was rescued said “Auntie Success told us that she had job opportunities for us in Agbor, Delta State, where we would be selling drinks in a beer parlour, but on getting there, we discovered that it was prostitution work she brought us to do.
“The men paid the sum of N1,000 or N2,000 directly to our madam, who only gave us N400 every day for feeding. The direct payment to Madam Success made it difficult for us to have any cash at hand.
“These dresses (skimpy clothes) were bought for us from the proceeds paid to our madam.”
The girls said that they had made multiple unsuccessful efforts to escape but were always discovered and punished harshly. They claimed that they were persuaded into the crime in order to obtain their school fees.
“After the punishment, we were taken to a herbalist, who forced us to take an oath that we would never run away or we would die”, added another victim.
