According to a source, former Brazilian football great Pele has been transferred to end-of-life care since chemotherapy treatment for his colon cancer is no longer producing the desired outcomes.
The 82-year-old, who is regarded as the greatest footballer of all time, no longer receives chemotherapy, according to the So Paulo newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.
Pele was brought to the hospital this week to reevaluate his cancer treatment, and subsequent medical studies confirmed the diagnosis of a respiratory infection.
A medical report on Pele, who is being treated at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, stated on Friday that she had responded appropriately to an antibiotic therapy, “with general improvement in health status.”

Pele said he was visiting Albert Einstein for a “weekly visit” on Thursday in an effort to allay supporters’ concerns. The Santos academy graduate had colon cancer therapy after having a tumour removed in September of last year.
Pele’s post featured a picture of his image being displayed on a structure in Qatar, the country hosting the World Cup, along with the words “Get well soon.”
“Praying for your life, for health and a great recovery,” after referring to Pele as “the King,” Kaka commented in the comments area.
However, following the news on Saturday that Pele is now receiving palliative care, many football fans have already begun to express their fears on other social media platforms.
