The Academic Staff Union of Universities, or ASUU, has stated that it will review the Appeal Court’s decision ordering the union to halt its strike in order to decide its course of action.
The appeals court ruled on Friday that the union must immediately resume work as previously mandated by the National Industrial Court.

ASUU President Professor Emmanuel Osodeke responded to the new court verdict by stating that the union has not yet received the Appeal Court decision in writing.
He stated that after obtaining the judgment, the union would review the documentation with its lawyers and determine its course of action.
We have not yet received the ruling, so when we do, we will evaluate it with our lawyer before moving forward, he said.
Recalls that on September 11, the Federal Government brought ASUU before the National Industrial Court after failing to establish a truce with the university lecturer.
On September 24, the court issued an order requiring the striking lecturers to resume class while talks with the Federal Government are ongoing.
Angered by the decision, the union went to the appellate court to challenge it.
