I don’t know Ekweremadu personally and have never had any dealings with him, but there are some actions I would not believe that a politically exposed person like that would engage in, especially in a country like the UK which does not joke with issues of such nature.

I will give Ike Ekweremadu the benefit of doubt -By Azuka Onwuka

A classmate of mine went through h€ll in the UK after a woman she took over there to live with her called the police and claimed that she was a victim of human traffEEking, all in a bid to be granted asylum by the UK.

The police swooped on them and took the benefactor away. Then they began their investigation. They spoke to everybody who knew them, including their pastors, but drew blank. Those who knew them said they thought the lady alleging human traffEEking was the benefactor’s younger sister.

After trying to nail her without success, the police let the lady off the hook. But the trauma she went through is unimaginable.

I have heard of similar experiences of some other people.

Some Nigerians can go to any length to get a foreign country grant them asylum. They don’t care whose life they destroy.

That was why I was skeptical when I heard the allegation that Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife were arraigned for organ harv€sting of a Nigerian minor in the UK. Given that Ekweremadu is a lawyer and a lawmaker, it is most unlikely that he would not know the procedure of using someone as a kidney donor for his sick daughter in the UK.

The person claiming to be 15 years will most likely be found to be in his 20s.

Just pray you don’t fall into the hands of those desperate to get foreign papers.

Therefore, on an issue like this, I would rather give Ekweremadu the benefit of the doubt rather than believe he lured a minor overseas for organ harv€sting.
