Gbade, the third prosecution witness, while being led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, M. Omosun, said he saw blood stains on the wall of the room where his brother lodged at Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife when he and some operatives inspected the room while the door to the room was damaged and repaired.

But while being cross examined by Mr K. Eleja, SAN, counsel for the hotel’s owner, Adedoyin, he admitted not writing that there were blood stains on the wall and that the door to the room was damaged in the two statements he wrote before the police, which were earlier admitted as evidence by the court.

According to Gbade, the receptionist on duty the day late Adegoke lodged in the hotel, Adesola Adedeji, told Investigative Police Officer in charge of the case that the hotel’s lodgers’ register had been doctored.

Recalled that the deceased, Timothy Adegoke Oludare, a Chartered Accountant from Eruwa, Oyo State was declared missing by his family after he left Abuja on Friday 5th November 2021 to Akure airport to Ile-Ife. He later lodged at Hilton Hotel at Ile Ife in Osun state. The deceased wife was said to have raised the alarm when she could not reach her husband the next day on the phone.

Oludare was reported missing since he checked in at the hotel on Friday, November 5 preceding his examinations scheduled for Saturday, November 6, and Sunday, November 7.

A family source who said a report was made at the police station added that the hotel at first denied the deceased ever lodged at the hotel.

“We went to the hotel with the Police Anti-kidnapping squad of Oshogbo to make inquiries but they denied the identity of my brother at the hotel. After some hours of investigation, the police arrested six staff of the hotel. It was then they confirmed that my brother lodged at the hotel.
