Mrs. Nonye Josephine Ezeanyaeche, a 102-year-old presidential candidate, has declared that she can make Nigeria better than anything President Muhammadu Buhari has done or will do in the remaining months of his term.
This is because she claims that before becoming President, Buhari was unaware of the magnitude of Nigeria’s problems.
Mrs. Ezeanyaeche, on the other hand, stated that she is aware of the difficulties and that she has a flawless plan to improve Nigeria if the country’s population elect her president in 2023.
The submissions were made during a recent interview with The Punch, InsightnaijaTV reports.
Buhari has been overwhelmed by the experiences he has had in the job, according to Mrs. Nonye Josephine Ezeanyaeche, but she can do better because she will adopt a different approach.
She said, “Buhari has tried his best but his best is not just good enough to salvage this country. He did not realize what he was coming to face, that was why he kept promising Nigerians here and there. But the realities on the ground have dawned on him and it became obvious right from the outset that his capacity could not take Nigeria out of its current mess. He has tried, but the effort is not just enough.
“To answer your question: Can I do better? (Let’s wait) until then because I will take a different approach. I will have better advisers. One thing I can tell you is that Nigeria will be great again under my leadership”.
While Ezeanyaeche stated that she is still consulting on the presidential race, she also stated that numerous political parties have approached her to run for president in 2023.
Mrs. Ezeanyaeche, as shown by InsightnaijaTV, stated that if the younger generation is not ready to take on the challenge of governing the country, she will throw her hat into the ring.
She announced her desire during a recent visit to the Nigerian Television Authority’s (NTA) management team in Abuja, where she was greeted by NTA Director-General Yakubu Ibn Mohammed.
Ezeanyaeche, also known as ‘Mama Africa,’ is an indigene of Aguata, Anambra state, and the founder of the ‘Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria’ group.
