Over the years, I have been confronted with different lot of questions regarding skin bleaching, why on earth must we embark on bleaching our skin?, does it speaks well of us?, what are the advantages will tend to derive for engaging in such?, to what extent does it have effect on human (both positive and negative). The act of skin bleaching has become rampant in our society today. It’s no longer new thing that vast majority are engrossed with bleaching their skin, mostly ladies are found to carry the majority vote but reverse seem to be case in the nation as guys now compete with guys in the war of skin breaching.
What is the naked truth beneath this act?
Skin whitening is the use of substances, mixtures, or physical treatments to lighten skin color, also known as “lightening”, “brightening”, “depigmentation”, and “bleaching”. It can also be refers to as the cosmetic procedure that aims to lighten dark areas of skin or achieve a generally paler skin tone. In a general sense, it a situation where one intended to achieve the result of converting his or her skin from its original colour to his or her desirable colour through the use of special cream. This process normally goes by changing the authentic skin for the general purpose of being like or attracted to people. It’s believed that people with yellow skin colour do command and be appreciated. At such, people resulted to convert their skin as a result of unguided mindset.
I do ask, why must we bleach our skin?
It is partinent for us to know the main reason why is necessary for some People to bleach their skin. It baffle me when I see people bleaching their skin for no reason but with the main purpose to fit into the world. Research has shown that People who have birthmarks, moles or other hyper pigmentation conditions might consider bleaching as an option to return their skin to a more uniform tone. others just bleach due to need to fit in society. others believe that with your light skinned people recognize you more and want to associate with you.
Apart from the aforementioned items listed below, here are some reasons why it’s mandatory to engage in skin lightening, this become imperative as it helps to sustain one, so also continue abuse use of this process is wrong and create enormous problem to the skin. Several chemicals have been shown to be effective in skin whitening, there is a growing market in skin lightening products that are toxin-free. However, they’re more costly due to their expensive ingredients used in producing them.

As it earlier stated, Skin whitening , skin lightening , and skin bleaching refer to the practice of using chemical substances in an attempt to lighten skin tone or provide an even skin complexion by reducing the melanin concentration in the skin. Among our ladies, this act has become a culture to the extent that it has penetrated to the heart of young ladies in the country. It has becomes a norm that if you don’t reproduce your skin then you have not arrived and you are not fit to be reckon with in the society.
– One of the risks associated with practise of skin is severe especially where it is applied, usually on the face, the face becomes thinner over time. The face is regarded as first contact and asset. Ladies can relate.
– According to a Dermatologist, Dr Ayopo Adeyemi, has advised Nigerians to desist from applying bleaching creams on their skins, saying such could have negative effects on their health. Other effect to include; burning or redness, skin cancer, skin diseases, liver and kidney damages among others.
– It reduces the chance of one to live normal life life in the long run, the practise of skin bleaching might offer one immediate enjoyment but the adverse effect that follow is severe.
– It hinder skin’s ability to heal fast when suffering from an injury, and it may lead to a very big infection which will take a very long time to heal and become normal.
– It makes your face look much older than your real age. Close to 40-50yrs, they effect of skin bleaching will take its course and render one skin imperfect.
The Funniest Part;
At a tender age, some people found it difficult to take their bath at appropriate time and apply recommended lotion to suit their skin. But when growing to adulthood, they finally want to change to white all of a sudden. Who is deceiving who?
Some people are embedded with different kind of colours, imagine having pink colour in the face, banana colour along the thigh regions, the leg having yollow with Irish colour at the ankle. At times, I wonder if they’re actually from the same planet with me.
I kind of pity guys that are competing with ladies in term bleaching these days. Guess they have not been informed that ladies do not fall for handsome guys these days but the power of your pocket will speak. Double your hustle and make money guys.
