Crusaders under the auspices of the 21st Century Youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience (21st CYNDAC), have applauded a foremost ex-militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, for relaxing the ultimatum handed the Federal Government over the non-constitution of a substantive board for the Niger Delta Development Commission.
Tompolo had on May 30, 2021, given the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to constitute the NDDC board or contend with the total shutdown of the Niger Delta as well as hostilities and youths restiveness.
But following interventions by stakeholders and the promise by the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, that the NDDC board would be inaugurated before the end of June, Tompolo and stakeholders decided to give the Minister the benefit of the doubt.
Chief Government Ekpemupolo otherwise known as Tompolo, disclosed in a statement on Saturday, June 5, 2021 that he has agreed to withdrew the seven-day ultimatum he issued to the Federal Government, over its failure to constitute a substantive Board for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

He added that the “reluctantly” withdrawal of the ultimatum, followed several appeals from Nigerians, including Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, and in the interest of peace in the troubled region and the Country at large. Tompolo
