Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and members of his family revalidated their membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC at Ifofin, Ward 8, Ilesa East Local Government, State of Osun on Friday, 19th February 2021.
At the event, he stated that though the constitution allows anyone to register as a member of any political party, even if they are suspects, murderers, character assassinators etc, but those who constitute majority of the party membership must represent the core values of the party. He listed the values of the APC to include social democracy, to a large extent liberal democracy and progressivism.
He also stated that there must be a clear distinction between jolly good fellows and fair weather friends who will still leave the party when they sense a better opportunity elsewhere.
He also noted that the party in Osun must honour the memory of her father, Chief Bola Ige and what he stands for which includes, compassion, commitment to the good of the majority and ideas that will bring good life, happiness, progress and security for the people.
He was received by the Leader of the Party in Ijesa land, Pa Kunle Odeyemi; Former APC Chairman, State of Osun, Elder Lowo Adebiyi; Speaker of the State of Osun, House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Timothy Owoeye and his wife; Former Commissioner for Environment & Local Government Chairman, Idowu Korede amongst other dignitaries.
