Lagos CP Commissions New Office Building At Police Divisional Headquarters In Ejigbo

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP. Hakeem O. Odumosu, has commissioned the Multi-million Naira Office Building belonging to the Ejigbo Divisional Police Headquarters.

Two Toyota Sienna utility vehicles have also been commissioned and handed-over to the Nigeria Police Force (N.P.F). This is in support of the N.P.F’s fight against crime in Ejigbo and Lagos State as a whole.

The event was held at the headquarters premises on Tuesday 6th October, 2020. The new office building was donated by the CEO of Grooming Centre, Ejigbo Lagos, Dr. Godwin Nwabunka. While the Utility vehicles were donated by the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Alh. (Hon.) Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello (OBE).

Speaking at the event, the Inspector General of Police, CP. Odumosu commended the Executive Chairman for contributing to grooming the police in Ejigbo and making it more possible for them to achieve their goals. To him, the Council Boss’ “support to the police is worthy of emulation by other office holders”.

The Commissioner of Police thus reiterated the commitment of the N.P.F to making Lagos State uninhabitable to criminals. Hence, the ongoing motion to deploy additional police officers to Ejigbo.

To the ever- responsive administration of OBE, the security of lives and properties of the people is non-negotiable. Hence, the need to always appreciate the efforts of the police and further support their fight against crime.

This had led to the purchase, commissioning and handing-over of the two Sienna Utility Vehicles, to aid mobility of the police and ease their response to crime.

On the newly built office building, the Local Council has successfully installed CCTV cameras and “to further ensure safety and high level surveillance”. In addition, the old office building has been renovated.

The OBE-led administration has refurbished the Police Mitsubishi pick-up van which was in a very terrible state, and has periodically been maintaining the old patrol van.

Furthermore, the Station fence which was demolished by the Anti-Pipeline Task Force has been rebuilt. The Local Council also identified and extended support to the police during the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Community policing is not left out as there have been various peace and security meetings held with the security agencies.

The Division Police Officer, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi has remained hardworking and outstanding, as her professionalism has helped to move policing in Ejigbo to high standards.
